Natalie, how do they count 3 years then? So long as you lived together under one address?
I am also considering changing the passport perhaps... But I do not know what the consequences are after I gave up the Chinese passport...Can you tell me perhaps? I know I have to get visa every time I am back China. But same wise, with Chinese passport, anywhere else I go, I need visa, except the Schengen countries here.
So do you just go to Gemeente and say you want to get Dutch passport?
You have to meet both conditions -- married/living together for 3 years, AND, having been living together for 3 years.
well if you give up the chinese passport, the worst thing could happen is, going back home needs visa and paying money ;), and, if you need something in china, like buying house stuff, could be a bit troublesome...
its not i just go to gemeente to tell them i want passport, its the rule, u can just apply for it, "je wil nederlander geworden..." its very natural thing... go check it out, every month/time, each city has a few thousands people became dutch... imagine that... thats why IND is trying to control better... understood here actually. |
