Mortgage tax relief back for some second homesMonday 31 August 2009
People who own two homes because they have moved and the recessionhas left them unable to sell their first one are to be given an extratax break, news agency ANP reports on Monday.
From January, home owners stuck with a second house will be able toclaim mortgage tax relief for the double mortgage after renting it outfor a time, junior finance minister Jan Kees de Jager told MPs.
The tax break will run for a maximum two years, De Jager said.
The minister said he hoped the measure would stimulate people whocannot sell their first home to rent it out on a temporary basis. |
