At the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science
of the Gauss Faculty of the Technical University of Braunschweig
a position is available from December 2007.
Candidates must have an outstanding undergraduate degree
(German Diplom, Master or equivalent) in computer science with a strong
theoretical background or a degree in mathematics. Post-doctoral
candidates can also be considered.

The successful candidate is expected to combine research in the field of

algebraic and coalgebraic methods in computer science with teaching
duties
of 4 hours a week which are expected to be held in German.

The position will initially be filled for two years and is extendable
for
up to six years. The salary ranges between EUR 2800 and 3100 per month
depending on the background of the candidate.

The Chair of Information Systems consists of 6 permanent and 14 temporary staff members and is responsible for research and education in the area of  cooperative information systems. Examples range from traditional  large-scale information
systems to workflow management systems, groupware, and mobile information systems.
We have national and international research projects  in the areas of
requirements engineering, architectures,  process support and  service-orientation,
as well as security of cooperative information systems. We do our research  in close
cooperation with businesses.

Responsibilities
You are responsible for research and education in one of the themes of interest for
the chair, namely requirements, architecture, processes or security.  In addition to
your contribution to our current teaching and research projects, you will play
an important role in initiating new courses and in the proposal and acquisition
ofnew (inter)national research projects. You will also contribute to the
management processes in our faculty.

Profile
You have a Ph.D. in computer science, software engineering, telematics or another related research area, and you have extensive experience in teaching and research in one of the research areas of the chair of information systems. Among others, this is
evident from your publication record in high-ranking international journals and
conferences. You have a proven ability to acquire project (inter)national funding.
You aspire to prove your ideas in implemented prototypes and at the same time like
to provide a theoretical foundation for them.

Offer
In first instance your appointment will be for a period of two years, followed by an
evaluation.  After a positive evaluation, this will be changed into a permanent
position after a positive evaluation. Your salary will be minimally € 4242,- gross
per month and maximally € 5670,- gross per month depending on experience and current
salary. Furthermore you will receive yearly a holiday allowance of 8% of your annual
salary, an end-of-year allowance of 3%. To reimburse the costs of moving to Twente,
you will be granted an allowance of 12% of your year salary with a max of € 5445,-.
We offer you participation in our collective health insurance under excellent
conditions. We have excellent conditions for paid parental leave and childcare. You
will take part in our pension fund under favorable conditions.
