which exams is the most suitable for you, inburgering or NT2-1?
I have taken both exams since October 2011. So I will give some comments according to my own experience.
(1) which one is easier? It is inburgering exam for sure. There is a lot of listening and speaking and writing. But the level is definitely lower and the requirement is lower as well.
(2) which one is quicker? It is up to the plan. The registration to the exams both takes about two months. If you plan inburgering carefully, you can do the portfolio work during your registration of the centraal exam. This means that you can finish both parts parallelly within 3 months or around 2.5 months. For NT-1 exams, the registration to four parts can take about 2 months to wait. If you are lucky to pass four parts in one time, then it takes about 2 months, otherwise, it takes a lot of time.
(3) which one is cheaper? It is NT2-1 if you can pass all for one time. It will be 90 euros.
(4) which one is easier to prepare? It is inburgering. I prepare for it by myself for about 2 weeks, not full time. So if you can do it full time, then you can prepare for it in one week by yourself. It is harder to prepare for NT2-1 exam. It takes more time for Chinese people to prepare listening and speaking parts of NT2-1 exam.
