Try to keep an eye on Wagningen University, Leiden university and Utrecht university. Delft is good but do not stick to it only.

Hi, salary of postdoc is somewhat depends on your experience. If you just got your degree, your salary will normally not reach this level. Furthermore, you will pay more tax, you will unlikely to get any subsidy for low income people. However, I don't know if postdocs are eligible for the 30% tax deduction. If that is true, then it's worthwhile.
just thought about something for LZ: for biomass fermentation or digestion studies, Germany, Denmark, UK, Finland, Sweden and Austria have a lot more projects than Holland. Especially in Austria: the number anearobic digestion plants is doubling each year recently. So keep your eye open for the whole europe area. A lot of opportunities!
The only disadvantage for staying in scandinavian countries is, TOO BORING. hehe. but the atmosphere for research is very very good.
