In netherlands,General terms and conditions are not binding unless they make a specfic statement in the contract which you signed.plz check you application carefully,in my opinion,as a mature company,their format contract should be a perfect one.i.e,there should be,or must be such provision saying that your are willing to accept General terms and conditions of the company.It is a normal logic of a contract drafter.Usually such provision is put in the end of the contract.
So plz check ur application form .if there is no such provision,you don't need to pay anything,otherwise,you have to pay.I am afraind,to a big extent,you will find such provision in your application form unless the contract drafter of the company is a fool..
