The residence permit 'EU residence permit for long-term resident' (type V) replaces the permanent residence permit with the annotation 'EC long-term resident' (type II). The permanent residence permit will remain in existence (regular permanent - type II and permanent asylum - type IV), but will henceforth be issued only to people not eligible for the status of long-term resident.
