You will get a visa first to enter the country and can probably pick up your residence permit wonce you are in Rotterdam. You must pick up your residence permit first, prior to making an appointment. I believe you found this information on this website? The only thing you need to bring from China is your passport. The rest can be arranged here (that is, a copy of your passport, a competed registration form, a rental contract and your residence permit). At this point, I cannot think of anything else you need to arrange in China. Have you worked on your Nuffic certificate? That is probably the only thing, but I think you need this for your visa as well.
