DELTA (Dutch Education: Learning at Top level Abroad) is a programme that enables Dutch higher education institutions to award scholarships to students from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam. Thanks to an initiative of the Dutch government, many Dutch higher education institutions are able to offer what are known as DELTA scholarships to help students cover the costs of studying in the Netherlands.
The Dutch institutions may offer DELTA scholarships to students who:
- are a national of Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam;
- are not older than 35 at the start of the academic year;
- have been admitted to the Dutch programme on the basis of prior education outside the Netherlands;
- meet the visa requirements for entering and residing in the Netherlands as a foreign student;
- will spend at least three months studying in the Netherlands;
- are doing research, an internship or studying at Bachelor抯, Master抯 or PhD level;
- have been admitted to a Dutch institution of higher education.
