You have graduated with a Master’s degree or obtained a PhD
from a university which is included in the most recent lists of the
Top-200 of the Times Higher Education World University
Rankings, the QS World University Rankings, or the Academic
Ranking of World Universities (also known as the Jiao Tong
Shanghai ranking). In addition you must have graduated or
obtained a PhD no more than three years ago.
• You have graduated with a Master’s degree from a study
accredited in the Netherlands or have obtained a PhD from a
Dutch educational institution and you left the Netherlands after
completing your study, but you now want to find a job or start an
innovative business in the Netherlands, after all. In this case you
must also have graduated or obtained a PhD no more than three
years ago, but your educational institution does not have to
feature in the ranking lists.
• The assessment to determine whether you are eligible for
admission on the grounds of the Highly Educated Migrants
Scheme is based on a points system. This system focuses on your
education, age and chance of success in the Netherlands.
The more points you have the better. You have to score a
minimum of 35 out of the 40 points. You can find the overview
of the points system in the Residence Wizard on the website of
the Immigration and Naturalisation Service |
