Australian visa

Did anyone ever apply visa to go to Australia?Any idea on how long it takes?

I am planning to to to Sydney for a conference in late March, and just wandering whether i can get the visa on time.

You have to post the passport to Germany, and it would take at least one month or even more. They are very slow and TNT is also very slow. apply the visa as early as you could

actually i called the embassy in Berlin and the funny thing is that they said that they don't know how long it would take
they only told me to use the form 4.5.6 (business trip) and send the form and associated documents to them.
they also need a return envelope with sufficient postage. how did you do it?
I even don't know whether the dutch stamp works in Germany. I would prefer to using Fedex/TNT etc...
