Around 740members visited our survey questionnaires and 275members finally filled in the survey. 236 members filled in the Chinese survey while 39 members filled in the English survey. The response rate is around 37.2% (275/740).

In the survey, we deliberately inserted a testing question, i.e. Sharing my knowledge will NOT make me happy, which in fact, is the negative expression of the real question POE2: Sharing my knowledge will make me happy. Any response that was not consistent in these two questions was excluded. The answer to the testing question would not be included in the data analysis. After excluding 62surveys with inconsistent answers between the test and real questions, and recognizing case 174 as outlier, we finally got 212 valid responses.

Table 1, described the sample demographics. 66% respondents are female while 34% are male. Most respondents are between ages from 20 to 35years (91%) and have bachelor degree or above (88.2%). This is basically conforming to estimated gender, age and education distributions of members in gogodutch. 85.4% respondents reported that they have been in the Netherlands for at least 6months with 39.2% respondents said to be over 3years. 85.8% respondents have had the membership of gogodutch for more than 6months. Among them, 33.2% replied to have the membership over 3years. All this guarantees that the respondents have got enough time to know the Netherlands and to have the ability to share relevant knowledge with other members. Overall the respondents can represent most members in gogodutch.
