Quality Engineer
To deal with all quality related matters concerning products imported into Europe, as well as products sourced from the organization European factories and from non-organization suppliers. To interface with the Customer Service organisations in Europe and, as appropriate, with customers on quality matters.
Responsibilities
Manage customer QNs (alerts/claim/derogation) for his customers:
- receive QN
- create QN in SAP (if not created by Customer service)
- contact customers (or Customer service) to get more information
- send samples of defective parts back to the organization or other suppliers
- assist them in establishing the root cause of problems and to prepare 8D's
- verify the 8D provided by manufacturing plant. The quality of the 8D’s must be rated in accordance with 8D scoring criteria.
- send 8D to customer
- manage customer portal if applicable.
He is the main customer contact for all Quality issues on series deliveries:
- Phone calls, meetings
- Review customer score card
- Communicate general action plan if needed
The goal of all activities is to improve customer satisfaction.
Manage non conformance announcement to customers, with data provided by plants QE·
Manage cancellation request when applicable, up to obtain cancellation from customers.
Organize sorting at customer at minimum cost·
Follow up with sorting cost as soon as he gives a sorting approval.
Give his approval to non Quality cost invoices (from customer or sorting company)·
Give his approval for RGA to customers. Manage RGA and returned parts with local RGA assistant and logistic·
Responsibility for Quality
Response time D3-C, D5-C and closing time.
Number of open QNs.
Has all authority to stop production and/or deliveries of non conformed products.
Other
Can go, if needed to the customers. His customers or other customers located close to his location.
Can go, if needed to the other organization entities to know the task owner.
To undertake other duties as requested by Management, which are considered to be within the competence of the Post Holder.
ExperienceA minimum of two years experience in a quality function. Must have a working knowledge of ISO 9001:2000, Global 8D, FMEA ,SPC and inspection techniques.
The Quality Engineer will have to resolve daily issues.
Educated to Technical “HBO” level standard or equivalent (according to Dutch education system) with passes in English and Mathematics.
A technical qualification e.g. in mechanical engineering would also be an advantage as will previous experience of the SAP software modules.
Fluent English is essential. Fluency in other languages is desirable.

Daily contact with the organization factories as well as with the Customer Service organisations.
Subcontractors, non organization suppliers and, where necessary, customers.
