1. i will pay from private funds(myself or family member)
2. i have applied for a fellowship
As far as I know, "nutrition and health" has cloce relationship with food science. You can find the following information on the webpage of https://csa.wau.nl/bois2003/
Those with a master's degree in Nutrition and Health have knowledge and understanding of:
*General aspects of nutrition and health, both separately and in their mutual relationship
- Food composition and food availability
- Food consumption and dietary habits
- Sensory research
- Physiological and biochemical metabolism of foods
- Dietary requirements
- The effects of nutritional status and toxic agents on health and disease.
*Specific aspects depending on the specialization chosen. Within each specialization profiles may be followed focusing on different approaches of this specialization.
- Dietary Behavior and Disease Prevention
- Epidemiology and Public Health
- Physiology and Nutrigenomics
- Food Toxicology.
So probably you are going to do Epidemiology and Public Health which orient to medical reasearch areas. But actually every specialization more or less deals with food. Dont forget Wageningen is an agricultural university!
I am having one course titled Nutrional Genomics and Genetics, which is a restrict optional course for MNH MSc. It is an area of food science in my opinion. Last week, Wageningen University newspaper (WB)published news stating that Dr. Muller, professor in Human Nutrition, who is also the lecturer for my course, has received twenty million euros funding to set up a nutrigenomics group within the Wageningen Centre for Food Science. So you see it is a promising area:-)
Good luck with your application and study!
