读博士会不会被fire掉？这年头？？

最近听说有些战友，博士，被fire了。感觉真的是危机啊。难道博士也不那么安全了呢？？
xdjm。。。

刚和同事讨论过这个问题呢. 他们说也不知道. 以前从没听说哪个phd因为学校开不出工资而被裁了. 但是话说回来, 几十年来也没遇到过如此大的经济危机.

理论上讲应该不会，如果能开始phd，说明钱已经到位了。如果被炒了，八成是老板干的，然后编个理由告诉你funding没了。

这个，希望不会吧。

有先例的
因为第一年满了有一个评估
合同上说明了评估和不合格的话学校可以fire的
听说过一个例子，不过那个家伙太“杨修”了，不巧遇上一个小公司老板（在公司做博士），于是老板趁一年满评估的机会炒鱿

另外的情况就是博士自己炒学校，听说过好几个

I had fired my supervisor and went to another university for a new PhD position. When I am postdoc, I asistanted my professor to fire a PhD student, even in her 2nd year, because she is really too stupid and tried to make fraud .  Both cases had nothng with the finiancial issue.

I think I did a right thing to help fire that girl. Most people in our group got happy when I pointed out her fraud, becasue we can not tolerate a PhD student worked so poor.

1. To answer the question of LZ, it is possible to be fired when you do not work well enough, no matter crisis or not.
2. To show the agreement of #5, it is not rare that the PhD student can fire the boss if you are not satisfied with the supervision.
