关于official letter

我十天前也收到导师的email,告诉我被接受了， 之后就没有消息了，没有提合同之类的事，好像秘书也不太知道合同的事，荷兰人真是慢，比国内还慢，你等多长时间才拿到pdf版的offer啊？

They are definitely much slower than Chinese.
But once you finish it, much less energy are needed to worry about it.

I asked the professor about the salary I will get two days ago, until now I have not got a reply

According to my experience, the sectraries could reply 2 weeks latter and generally say:"Oh, I was on vacation..."
For the professors, there are much more excuses, like on business, at field, on vacation, etc...

You should practise your patience before you come, or you will not feel comfortable here.

难道他们不是天天check email 吗？ 我现在的导师随时check email, 回email及其之快， check 下email 也花不了多少功夫

in fact the mail pop up like a messenger or SMS
so of course everybody checks email constantly on duty hour of week days in office,

but
after duty hour, no
at weekends, no
on vacation, no
at field / on business, seldom for they are busy with some meeting, etc.

schedule is very important here.  what on schedule, what is the focus, without any other disturbance.  even though the schedule is "to relax".

我也收到了official letter，是post-doc的，收到后给课题组的未来老板发了封信询问了一下，他告诉我不用理会，只要等visa和work permit就行，现在心里也没底，到底应不应该把这个信签了再寄回去？

我只是收到了email 的offer，没有收到official letter, 不过看了以前的帖子，好像没事，我到现在不知道contract是什么样的呢，问老板多少钱一个月还没回复，秘书啥都不知道
