The risk is you will miss important letters from IND. However, many are doing this. Just register as early as possible when you have something with address. You definitely need one when you extend your ID next year (the reason why you can succeed this year is probably the moment they apply the iD, you haven't been cleaned out of the old address yet).
2nd: if you one day want to apply permenant residence permit, you might have trouble explaining the vacancy in your address.
If your friend owns or legally rent a non-govenment house, he can register you without contract. It depends on city probably, just ask city hall. |
