博士读两年可能吗?

大家好,今天收到了delft University of Technology 教授的一封信.
说有个新的计划问我感不感兴趣.本来觉得很激动,但是看到最后这个只需要两年就可以读完,我觉得很蹊跷,请大家来帮帮忙,辨别一下,这个和一般的博士有什么不同.
New designer programme: BioProduct Design
On graduating the BioProduct designers will be awarded the title “Professional Doctorate in Engineering”, or PDEng.
In the first year of the two-year programme trainees are immersed in their specialist knowledge, integrating this with design methodology, patents and economic evaluation amongst others. This integration assumes a concrete form in the group design project. The second year is devoted to an individual design project in collaboration with a company. In this project the students develop new and creative solutions for real-life problems.

In the last few years, the Dutch have incorporated the Anglo-Saxon system of academic degrees into their own. The old candidate's degree has been revived as bachelor's degree, the doctorandus' by the master's degree. This development has led the three Universities of Technology to award a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng), which replaced a post-master degree. This degree however is not incorporate in the Dutch Higher Education Act and therefore is not a protected title. Since the title PDEng is not recognized by Dutch law, holders of it are not allowed to use the title of doctor.
