At the beginning of the term, the new students will not be used to the studying way or teaching way of Holland. it is quite natural. Westernes have their way of learning things and teaching things. Many people will not be accustomed to it. but we have to try to adapt to it. For example, prevision is one of the ways out. prevision means going over the materials before hand very quickly so as to get a general idea of the materials. then in class pay more attention to the teacher and then come up with our own ideas whether it is wrong or right. we must let the teacher know whtat we are confused about.
Anyway do not worry too much. Everything will be ok in the end.
most important is not preview before lecture, but adapting and improving your English. understanding in the lecture is vital to your study here!!!!
Dutch people speak the best English in Europe including British people( they are native, but hard to understand). don't excuse yourself by saying teacher with an accent.
