Dear MSc students,
As you all know the number of SARS victims is still increasing.
TU Delft has come to the conclusion that students from China, Hongkong, Singapore and Taiwan should not travel to these countries from now on. Also Dutch students and staff are not allowed to visit these countries until further notice. We are sorry if you have to spend your holidays in the Netherlands involuntary but we have to avoid risks.
New MSc students arriving in August will be checked by the Student Health Organisation as soon as they arrive in Delft. They receive an ear thermometer and have to check themselves for 10 days.
TU Delft is sorry to say that relatives from graduands from China, Hongkong, Singapore and Taiwan are advised not to visit the graduation ceremony in August. Since the danger of infection is real, it is best to avoid any contact with possible bearers of the disease. So, please inform your parents and/or other relatives of this decision.
Mentors for the welcome week should be conscious of the risk of infection during the arrival of new students.
Every day new developments occur; TU Delft will keep you informed of the latest news and proceedings through the website.
We all hope that the disease will not spread further and hope you will contribute to the effort of keeping SARS out of this country!
