Erasmus Mundus


Erasmus Mundus is a new programme of the European Commission. Its aim is to improve the quality of European higher education and to encourage cooperation with countries outside the EU. It does this through joint master’s degree programmes offered by partner institutions in the member states.
Joint curriculum
The programmes are based on a joint curriculum that is taught by cooperating institutions in at least three European countries.
Students both from inside and outside the EU can apply to follow these programmes. Students coming from outside the EU can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. A second Erasmus scholarship can be requested by EU students.

申请了这个。。。不过貌似要求很高估计看不上我。。。唉

NFP是要有雇主推荐的啊,估计一般学生没有办法申请的吧!

Although it seems like there are lots of scholarship available, there are additional clauses that make it impossible for one student to apply for all the listed scholarships. For instance, I remember one scholarship explicitly claims that students from big cities, such as Shanghai, cannot apply. But the income distribution in China is disparse. Students from Shanghai could be extremely poor and unable to support their study, which student from some provinces, which are unfamiliar to Westerners, can afford luxury goods. It seems unfair to me to add those clauses.

Tilburg University Scholarship Programme


Tilburg University Scholarschips
For the year 2008 - 2009 Tilburg University has a maximum of 50 scholarships available for excellent international students who are admitted to a Master’s programme at Tilburg University (MA, MSc, LLM or MPhil).
Tilburg University Scholarships include:

• A partial tuition waiver of € 7.706,- for non-EEA students. Students pay only the low undergraduate fee of € 2.212,- instead of the high graduate fee of € 9.918,-. EEA students pay the same fee as Dutch students, which is € 1.565,-.
  
• € 5.000,- for the covering of living expenses for one academic year, both for EEA and non-EEA students.

To qualify for a Tilburg University Scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following admission requirements:

• Candidates must have graduated with excellent results in their Bachelor's programme
  
• Candidates must have scored at least 577 in the TOEFL paper based test, 233 in the TOEFL computer based test, or 90 in the TOEFL internet based test or alternatively 6.5 in the IELTS test
  
• Candidates should provide two independent letters of reference
  
• Candidates must have been admitted to one of the Master's programmes at Tilburg University; they have to meet the particular programme's criteria
  
• Candidates must be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa, if applicable (see here for more information).
  
• Candidates are encouraged to apply for external scholarships like Huygens Scholarship Programme, Bappenas, Stuned and Netherlands Fellowship Programme as well. If a student receives an external scholarship, fully covering tuition waiver and living expenses, the Tilburg University Scholarship (including tuition waiver and living expenses) will be canceled. If an external scholarship would be less then the Tilburg University Scholarship, the Tilburg University Scholarship will be awarded partially.

The deadline for application for the Tilburg University Scholarschip Programme is April 15th, 2008.
When you apply for a Master's programme at Tilburg University you will automatically be considered for the Tilburg University Scholarship Programme. If you meet the requirements for the scholarship the University will contact you and ask you to send two reference letters to start the scholarship application process. If you think you meet the requirements you can also include the reference letters with your Master's programme application to speed up the process.
Tilburg University Scholarships are awarded for one academic year. Candidates applying for one of the MPhil programmes have to apply for the scholarship again for their second year of the MPhil programme.
If the student should leave the programme prematurely, Tilburg University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship.
