Saturday 17 February 2007 at 12h33 get together in the center of MAASTRICHT.
Place of meeting: in front of the main entrance of the central station. Today
the Prince of Carnaval of Maastricht will make acte de presence with official
ceremonies, traditions and handing over of the key of the town hall of
Maastricht by major Gerd Leers. In the afternoon Carnaval artists perform on
Vrijthof square during "Vastelaoftrap". Wonderful atmosphere with tens of bands
across the city for the rest of the day.
Sunday 18 February 2007 at 11h11 get together in the center of MAASTRICHT. Place
of meeting: Vrijthof square in front of the Spanish museum (between the main
post office and the main church, both on Vrijthof square). At 12h11 official
Carneval opening ceremony, rising the Mooswief and eleven canonshots. In the
afternoon the main PARADE of Maastricht will take place which we will attend on
Vrijthof square close to Mc Donald's. To join for the parade try to arrive no
later than 13h33. Afterwards wonderful atmosphere and street Carnaval throughout
the center! In the evening we go to the town of BEEK for an EVENING PARADE by
car (or train 18:11 if not enough seats in cars).
