You have accepted your offer of admission, what next?
Register as a student
Before you begin your master programme at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, you must register yourself as a student in the national student registration system studielink, www.studielink.nl
This can be done in June, July and August, after you have accepted your offer of admission. You can find a step-by-step guide to Studielink through the website of the Erasmus Student Service Center (ESSC): www.eur.nl/essc.
Unfortunately some students receive e-mails from Studielink during the registration process regarding language requirements, sending a copy of your passport etc. These are error messages and can be ignored. If you experience problems or have questions regarding Studielink, please contact the Erasmus Student Service Center (ESSC) at: +31 (0)10 408 2323 or http://www.eur.nl/essc.
Make your offer of admission unconditionalYour offer of admission is currently conditional. All of the conditions listed in your letter of admission must be fulfilled before you are allowed to begin your master’s programme. If you have failed to meet any of the conditions listed by August 31st, your offer of admission will be withdrawn. Please be aware that the admissions office can not confirm your registration as a student until your offer of admission has been made unconditional.
Arrange your visa
As soon as you have accepted your offer we will send you information on the visa process. For more information you can send an e-mail to the following address:VisaBScMSc@rsm.nl
Obtain a Nuffic certificate
Students from the People’s Republic of China must obtain a Nuffic certificate from the Nuffic office in The Hague before being issued a visa. Additional information and an application form is available on the main website of the Nuffic www.nuffic.nl as well as the website of NESO China: http://www.nesochina.org
Look for accommodation
Finding suitable student accommodation in Rotterdam by yourself can be difficult, especially if you are from abroad and are not familiar with the Dutch housing system. Therefore, the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University can help point you in the right direction when renting a room in the city.
The independent housing agency Stadswonen is one of the largest in the city when it comes to student accommodation and they are also in charge of renting the on-campus housing at the Erasmus University. Starting on March 1st, you may reserve a room via the website of Stadswonen using the following URL: www.stadswonen.nl (then Short Stay)
Please be aware that Stadswonen only rents out rooms for one year starting at the beginning of the month. This means that you can only rent a room from for example 1 August 2011 until 31 July 2012.
When entering your name in the system, please use your full first name instead of your initials.
Another good way to find a room is through website Housing Anywhere www.housinganywhere.com or Flexwonen www.flexwonen.nl. Both websites list rooms and appartments rented by private parties.
