National Book Week in the Vrijhof
The 70th annual Book Week takes place from March 9-19. Its theme this year is `Mirror of the lowlands, books over our history.' Consult bookstores, libraries and cultural centers in Enschede and Hengelo for a list of activities. In the Vrijhof, the UT will celebrate national Book Week with two art exhibits.
March 3-24, in the Vrijhof exhibition room next to the Theatercafe, local photographer Agnes Booijink displays brand new work that explores various aspects of the `Mirror of the low lands' theme. AKI professor Elvira van Eijl will open the exhibit on Thursday, March 3 at 4 pm with a short talk on the photographer and her oeuvre.
March 10-17, on the first floor of the Vrijhof, management science student Miriam Losse exhibits her graduation project: paintings of abstract bookshelves, each with its own character. |
