这次是参观荷兰北部的一个艺术家的房子。我去年的时候去过一次，很大，他把一半的房子改造成了博物馆，很漂亮。
记得这个艺术家前年被评为荷兰年度最佳。绘画的风格也是以写实为主。有兴趣的同学可以注册，然后去看看。以后的几
个月，每个月应该都会有免费的活动，如果有兴趣参加的同学可以关注下网站的信息。

Dear international friends,

As the new season is about to begin we would like to welcome back old friends who have joined us in the past, but also to invite new friends to participate in our meetings of International Café.

Invitation for September 16, 2011 - A visit to Henk Helmantel

We have planned a special event on Friday, September 16 to open our new season of International Café. We will visit the home and museum of Henk Helmantel, well-known Dutch figurative artist. Some of you have already visited his home and seen his amazingly realistic work. This time, however, there will be work by other figurative artists, focusing on paintings of gardens, flowers and fruits. Admission to the exhibition is 4 euro’s pp.

Train
We will meet in Groningen at 15:15 at Central Station at platform 2a, to take the stop train leaving at 15:32 in direction Delfzijl. We will get out at Stedum and walk 2 kilometers to Westeremden. The train trip takes 20 minutes. It costs 8.20 euros round trip (unless you have a train discount card). Be sure to be on time! Hans van Seventer will meet you at the station in Groningen, and you will see other international students as well. We expect to return to Groningen sometime around 20:00 o’clock.



Soup, salads & bread
At the home of the Helmantels you will be welcomed with coffee or tea and cake. Then you can visit the exhibition and enjoy the beautiful garden and buildings, a medieval parsonage with its barn, a “Weem” in Dutch, and a medieval church. Later there will be a free meal of soup, salads and bread.

This will be our first official meeting of this season. We hope you can join us.Please do let us know by September 14 if you are coming . Always sign up on our website

IMPORTANT: If you have signed up for any of our events but for some reason are not able to come will you please let us know as soon as you can so that we know how much food will be needed!

Invitation for September 24, 2011 - International Café Meeting
Our regular monthly meeting of International Café will be held on Saturday, September 24 at the Hereweg 1 in Groningen, from 18:00 until 22:00 o’clock. There will be soup and bread, coffee and tea and cake, a short talk about some aspects of Dutch culture, and time for games and conversation. The evening is free, but there is a box where you can make a small contribution for the costs of rent and food. Please sign up for this meeting before Sept. 23.
