in NL it's not allowed that someone does not have insurance. so, one day u need to have insurance, because of e.g. applying for KM, WP, or other legal purpose to stay, u'll be required to have insurance. at that time, as long as u're gonna apply for ur new insurance, at any insurance company in NL sees that u've gap, firstly u'll be asked to pay the extra fees to cover the gap (how many month x month fee). so in all, u cannot save any money on this.
