In the Online Admission System, at Step 8: Supporting documents you can upload digital copies of the documents that are required to process your application. Alternatively, you can send hard-copies of your documents to the relevant Faculty Admissions Office. Please note that this may increase the processing time of your application, since we will have to wait for the documents to arrive. Therefore, we strongly advise you to use the upload option in OAS.
Which documents are required may differ per programme. To minimize the processing time of your application it is very important that you carefully check the relevant Faculty information on admission requirements to find out which application documents are required for the programme of your choice. Documents that generally will be required for all programmes are:
A copy of your valid passport (the page(s) in your passport mentioning your personal data and previous visa to the Netherlands) or ID card. Please make sure the copy is legible.
A (certified) copy of your diploma(s). If they are not in English, Dutch, French or German, please also provide a certified translation in English, Dutch, French or German. If you have not yet completed your educational programme, please send a statement of expected date of graduation signed by your school.
A (certified) copy of your transcripts (list of grades). If they are not in English, Dutch, French or German, please also provide a certified translation in English, Dutch, French or German. If you have not yet completed your educational programme, please send temporary transcripts showing the grades you have received to date. In that case, please also send us a list of courses that are not on the temporary transcripts but that you will have to take to complete your programme.
A letter of motivation, explaining why you are applying for admission to the programme (no more than 650 words).
Your Curriculum Vitae/Resume, including your personal details, previous education (list of all schools / institutions which have issued diplomas and dates of attendance) and relevant work experience.
If you apply for a programme taught in English: a copy of an English language test result. The University of Groningen requires all applicants to degree programmes taught in English to submit proof of English language proficiency. All faculties will accept IELTS tests, Cambridge tests, and TOEFL tests. Acceptable minimum scores may vary per faculty/programme.
If you apply for a programme taught in Dutch: a copy of your NT2 result.
For Master applications only: two letters of recommendation. These should be from academic staff and should be signed and printed on official paper of your home university. |
