STD means sexual transmitted diseas.
There are 3 factors which contribute an increase in STD:
1. the first and most imortant factor is the decline in the use of the condom as a means of preventing conception.
2. a second factor in the current epidemic is the increasing resistance of the gonococcus to penicillin.
3. a third factor in the epidemic would appear to be an increase in asymptomatic infections, in men as well as women.
