The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions [IFLA] is the leading international organization representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession.
IFLA is an independent, international, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization. IFLA's headquarters are located in the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, the National Library of the Netherlands, in The Hague. IFLA currently has more than 1600 members (libraries and library associations) and develops activities on all library and information society related topic in more than 50 international working groups. IFLA has decentralized regional offices and language centers throughout the world. At IFLA HQ an international staff of 12 people is taking care of daily coordination.
