Dutch health insurance is made up of three components, namely basic insurance, supplementary health insurance and dental insurance. Basic insurance does not cover dental costs (except for dental surgery or kaakchirug in Dutch). However, if you are younger than 22 years old, basic insurance also covers orthodontic treatment.
Extra supplementary insurance covers alternative treatment (such as, Chinese medicine etc). As is evident in the word "dental," dental insurance covers dental treatment. However, dental insurance varies from company to company. Each policy is different. |
