Opening Academic Year 2003-2004
The Dutch Prime-Minister Mr. Balkenende has been invited to speak on the occasion of the opening of the academic year 2003-2004 on September 1. Mr. Balkenende will hold a speech (in Dutch) on todays "knowledge society".
His speech will be followed by Leiden University's President A.W. Kist, who will further address university policy.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 10.00 a.m. sharp and will take place in the Pieterskerk (just around the corner from the University Central Offices at Rapenburg 70).
