do not apply for one -year master program because these courses are quite advanced. A bachelor from Chinese universities does not directly make you qualify for it. so You'd better apply for SID-IE&B program(2 years), then your toefl grade is sufficient.

As to master programs in General economics (from 2004-2005 ??in Rug, should already started this year), for most of Chinese students, more years are necessary, depending on quality of your previous education.

You may compare with the Dual degree in economics in CCER,peking university. if your bachelor degree can reach its level (e.g.the couses designed, the textbooks used, THIS IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT). you may enter the third year of bechalor in economics in one Dutch university, otherwise it takes more years.

Can Chinese universities use very advanced textbooks comparable to Dutch universities???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not mean the nominal qualification. It is true that Dutch universities acknowledge Chinese Bachelor degree. But  whether the real quality of most Chinese undergraduate programs are sufficient to enable Chinese students to directlt enter one-year master program without any preparatory courses is another problem.

Compare the course design and textbook used in both countries, you can clearly see the big gap between two education systems.

certainly it depends programs, the more theoritical the programs are, the more huge the gap is . e.g. general economics, finance.  however, the business or managment might be OK.

For example, the economics and finance program in UvA, look at the second and third year course description(many advanced couses already introduced at undergraduate phase), I am wondering the bachelor degrees from China( maybe some top ones are exceptions) can make Chinese student enter the master phase.
