about insurance

Hello~~~
I am a Hong Kong student who will come to UvA for studying Master degree in the coming semester. Actually, I have got a question concerning the insurance matter. Is it a must for me to buy medical and accident insurance in Amsterdam or can I buy the insurance in my Hong Kong with the insurance agent who I am quite familiar with?

I think you still need to buy an EU student insurance which has direct effect in Holland. Cost around 450 Euro/year here. As you are from HongKong, I guess it's not such a big fee for you~`

No, You don't have to buy the Dutch insurance. if you have your local insurance and it can cover your fee in Netherlands, then it's OK.
