Foundation year: First year admission requirements
To be admitted to the foundation year of the ABS Bachelor programmes, you have to meet the following criteria.
Higher secondary level
To be admitted you need a certificate at higher secondary level such as:
- Havo / Vwo or Mbo (level 4)
- International Baccalaureate
- Abitur or Fachhochschulreife
- High school, A or B grades
- Sekolah Menegah Atas (SMA)
- General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE -A level) preferably with passes in English, mathematics, economics and a foreign language.
Fluency in English
A sufficient level of fluency in English is a pre-requisite for example:
- An IELTS score of at least 6.0 or
- A TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based) or 79-80 (internet based)
Please note: if you take a TOEFL test and you are a Non-European Union student, you will also have to take a TOEFL test of Spoken English with a minimum score of 50.
French and German
At the main phase Fench and German start at intermediate level and require respectively 'faux débutant' and 'Grundstufe', which means approximately two to three years of previous training. Dutch and Spanisch start at beginners level. |
