Introduction:
Tilburg University, founded in 1927, is a fully accredited government financed university with over 10,000 students. Tilburg university specializes in the social sciences and humanities and has five faculties: Economics and Business Administration, Law, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Philosophy, and Arts. An independent Faculty of Theology is affiliated with the university. Within these faculties, 70 degree programmes are offered, some of which have an interdisciplinary character.
The university is renowned, both nationally and internationally, and its Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is regarded as the best according to several rankings (see box). Members of the university are frequently asked for policy advice. The CentER for Economic Research, which is part of the faculty, is regarded as one of Europe’s top research institutes, before famous institutes like Harvard, Princeton and Chicago.

Tilburg is situated in south of the Netherlands, close to the Belgian border.
