Accommodation in Haarlem
We too would be very disappointed, in the event that you would be unable to take up your studies in Delft. We have sought, therefore, to find an alternate solution. In fact we expect that our housing pool will be expanded by several dozen accommodations within 2 to 3 months.
With this prospect in mind, we have decided to rent 90 residences in Haarlem.
Heilige Hart kerk
The city of Haarlem has a 750-year history, some 150,000 inhabitants, and is the capital of the province of North-Holland. The city lies at a distance of 20 km from Amsterdam and has a direct railway connection with Delft, Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam. Haarlem offers residents a lively social and cultural centre. The distance from Haarlem to Delft is roughly 60 km which, when travelling via the direct train link, corresponds to a travel time of 40 minutes.
The residences located in the former Heilig Hartkerk (Church of the Sacred Heart) were, until recently, used as student accommodation for Inholland University. There are both 1 and 2-person flats available, each with individual facilities (kitchen, shower, toilet) and wireless Internet access. The complex also offers a communal area where student residents can get together. There are a wide range of shops in the direct vicinity of the complex.
The all-inclusive rental fee (i.e. including gas, water, electricity and municipal taxes) is € 295 for a 1-person flat and € 450 for a 2-person flat.
We would like to offer you an accommodation in the Heilig Hartkerk in Haarlem. The rental contract would be drawn up of a period of one half year, under which early termination would be permissible in the event that you – whether through DUWO or independently – find accommodation in Delft. It is expected that you would be able to move to Delft within a couple of months.
A number of TU Delft PhD students will also temporarily be residing in Haarlem.
