Dear XXXXX,
I am sending you this message on behalf of Akzo Nobel, because you are
currently enrolled in our Faculty of Mathematics & Natural Sciences. If
this is (no longer) the case, then please disregard this message.
Akzo Nobel is the world leader in coatings and a major international
chemicals producer. They have a growing presence in China, having
already contributed to a number of major projects including the 2008
Olympics. In June 2007 they opened two new Chinese plants and announced
further investments.
Every year, Akzo Nobel gives a select group of Chinese graduate students
the unique opportunity to attend fascinating lectures and workshops by
their technical staff. During their two-day Fit for China event, they
will introduce you to the world of Akzo Nobel and stress the role of
chemistry, technology and innovation.
Please see below for program goals, time and location, desired student
profile, application and selection.
Akzo Nobel would like to send you a personal hard copy invitation for
the Fit for China event by surface mail to your home/work address. If
you would like to receive this invitation, please send an email to Rob
Sanders at Rob.R.Sanders@akzonobel.com by Tuesday August 21 at the
latest and mention your full current local address details, where the

Should you know anyone else who might be interested, then please feel
free to forward this message.

Fit for China
Akzo Nobel. Succeeding in China
Akzo Nobel is the world leader in coatings and a major international
chemicals producer. We have a growing presence in China, having already
contributed to a number of major projects including the 2008 Olympics.
In June 2007 we opened two new Chinese plants and announced further
investments. But this is just the beginning, because China is key to
Akzo Nobel's growth strategy and we are committed to this significant
and growing market.
About Fit for China
Every year, Akzo Nobel gives a select group of Chinese graduate students
the unique opportunity to attend fascinating lectures and workshops by
our technical staff. During our two-day Fit for China event, we will
introduce you to the world of Akzo Nobel and stress the role of
chemistry, technology and innovation.
Program goals
Through Fit for China we will show you that Akzo Nobel is a company that
can help ambitious students to fulfill their professional and goals,
while utilizing their knowledge, skills, and interests.
You will also get a more precise idea of the career opportunities within
Akzo Nobel in both the Netherlands and China. Our ultimate goal is to
find students to whom we can offer contracts across three scenarios:
- a full-time position in the Netherlands
- a full-time position in China
- a two-year on-the-job learning program in the Netherlands,
followed by a contract for a position in China
When and where?
The 2007 Fit for China event takes place on October 17th and 18th at the
World Trade Center in Amsterdam.
Desired student profile
As well as being highly proficient in your field of study, Akzo Nobel
values socially talented individuals who demonstrate entrepreneurial
behavior, are result-oriented and have great team spirit. You should be
a university graduate (Master of PhD) in the field of chemistry or
(chemical/industrial) engineering (students in other disciplines are,
however, also encouraged to apply), graduating April 2008 at the latest.
Application and selection
You can apply for your place at Fit for China by filling out your
personal profile at our online Career Center
<https://secured.kenexa.com/akzonobel/cc/Home.ss> . Upload your resume,
list of grades, passport picture and your letter of motivation. After
sending in your application, you will receive an e-mail in which you are
prompted to fill out an on-line capability test. Furthermore, on October
1st, you could be selected for a first telephonic interview. You will be
selected based on a combination of (study) results, extracurricular
activities and your letter of motivation. We look forward to receiving
your application. |
