excursion to Keukenhof and Delft
Friday April 6th
As spring is announcing itself we thought it would be nice and interesting for you to visit our national flowershow: the spring garden Keukenhof in Lisse. The park consists of 80 acres with 60 million tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other flowers, ancient trees, flowering shrubs, ponds, fountains and even an art trail. There are beautiful flower arrangements in the pavillions (called parades) and different kinds of theme gardens, a nature garden and even a music garden. After we have visited the Keukenhof we will be off to Delft. There is no other place where you will encounter so many globally appealing cultural-historical values as in Delft – Delftware, Johannes Vermeer, the link with the Dutch royal family and the Dutch East India Company. But Delft is more than history : Delft is lively modern city with many innovations. Even if you already have been in Delft, we are sure that you will be pleasantly surprised during this visit!
You will have time off to walk around and to have dinner in any restaurant you like.
This excursion is organised in collaboration with the International Student Network (Martijn Borsje).
The detailed program:
Departure Nijmegen (Central Train Station) : 8.30 hours
Arrival Keukenhof: 10:15 hours
Departure Keukenhof: 15.00 hours
Arrival Delft: 15:30 hours
Departure Delft: 20.00 hours
Arrival Nijmegen (Central Train Station): 21.30 hours
Lunch and dinner are not included in this trip.
You can register and pay (the exact amount in cash please) for the excursion at the desk of External Relations (address: Comeniuslaan 4) during the office hours (Monday - Friday 10.00 - 17.00 hrs).
DEADLINE: Monday April 2nd. The price is € 21. We are unable to return this money if you are not able to join this excursion. The maximum number of participants is 50, and if there are less than 30 people registering for the trip we unfortunately have to cancel it.
