Student Organisation TwentyforOne signs for future War Child
In December 2006 and January 2007 the student organisation
TwentyforOne is spreading their message through their strong and
unique campaign "Sign for their Future" . Their aim is to raise
awareness and funds for War Child: a Dutch NGO which supports children
traumatised by war, and helps them to overcome their traumas through
workshops that involve music, theatre and sports.
TwentyforOne is a project group of twenty 4th year International
Communication students of INHOLLAND University Diemen/Amsterdam -
Holland, who have chosen unanimously to support War Child in their
final project before they move on to their graduation. With the "Sign
for their Future" campaign they signed over their time, motivation,
expertise and commitment to War Child. Currently they have raised over
€600,- through their events in benefit of War Child, and more is to be
raised in the coming months. By spreading their message, TwentyforOne
aims to show what a simple gesture from their side can do for a
child's future, and how easy it is for anyone else to follow their
example.
The campaign will be accompanied by White Ribbon Days at the various
locations of INHOLLAND University throughout the Netherlands. The main
aim of the events is to raise money and awareness among all students
of INHOLLAND and the audience of the events at other locations. The
white ribbons represent children's welfare throughout the world, and
are sold for a price that comes from the heart to get people to think
about the consequences of war on innocent children.
TwentyforOne is spreading their message through pens with the message
"Sign for their Future", symbolizing the actual signing for a future,
reminding one of their commitment every time the pen is used. As pens
go a long way before they run out of ink, the spreading of the message
will not stop in January 2007, but continue until every pen has been
used till the end. On the website www.twentyforone.org one can follow
the progress of the campaign through videos and pictures, and see how
the fundraising events for War Child are going.
By seeking the help of various communication channels in the media,
TwentyforOne aims to get their message "Sign for their Future" spread
as widely as possible, for everyone to realise what can be done with a
simple gesture such as a signature or email donation. TwentyforOne
supports War Child and hopes to put a smile back on the faces of
children affected by war through their campaign. Help us spread the
message, because the future of war children is filled with memories of
war, but could be made more bearable and happy with your help.
