Dear Student,
The following vacancies are opening up in the board 2007 of International Student Association ICONN:
- Chairman
- Treasurer
- External Relations officer
We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive people that are internationally minded, speak english well and want to do something interesting besides their studies, to fill these positions.
The positions start as of February, 2007 and will take about 8 - 10 hours per week. Further information about the content of each board position is given below. Reimbursement will be in terms of scholarship and a board position will definitely add to your CV.
ICONN aims to create an international environment both at Tilburg University and in Tilburg as a city. We focus our efforts on degree seeking international students. What we do in short:
· We co-organize the welcome week for international students.
· We are an intermediary among the University and the students and therefore work closely with the faculty international offices and the central international office.
· We look for and offer english spoken jobs and internships in the Netherlands.
· We cooperate with the municipality of Tilburg for internationalization in Tilburg.
· We organize many social activities, like dinners, Sunday brunches, parties and city trips.
You, as a board member, would be closely involved in the organization of these activities.

Board functions ICONN
The CHAIRMAN is responsible for:
- Keeping an overview of everything that is happening within the association
- Establishing and maintaining good contacts with key persons from faculty international offices, central international office, the executive board of university and the municipality.
- Chairing board meetings, evaluations and strategic sessions.
- Preparing agenda and action points.
- Represents the association in imperative external meetings/ events.
- Making sure the internal reporting structure and communication within the board is good.
- Watching trends and regulations at university that may be of importance to ICONN.
- Conveyance
- Takes seat in Tulip.
- Takes seat in Tigeak.
The TREASURER is responsible for:
- Keeping a good overview of the association’s financial situation.
- Making and maintaining the master budget for the academic year.
- Transfer payments and claims for expenses and collect membership fees.
- The subsidy request of the whole association and that of particular activities in need of subsidy.
- Coordinating activities committee.
The EXTERNAL RELATIONS officer is responsible for:
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships with key persons from companies, staffing agencies, sponsors and other external contacts.
- Representing the association in the organization of joint activities with other associatoins (icw the chairman).
- Maintaining and improving the company contacts database.
- Maintaining templates for letters directed at companies for sponsoring, etc.
- Presenting a sponsor plan for each academic year
- Getting sponsoring
- Finding english spoken internships and parttime jobs.
- Coordinating external relations committee
