New fees as of 1 July 2005
As of 1 July 2005 there is a new system of fees for dealing with MVV and residents’ permit applications. Students who need an MVV and who use the 'short procedure' will now pay a total of 438 euros (250 for the MVV and 188 for their residents’ permit) instead of 480 euros (50 for the MVV and 430 for their residents’ permit). Fees no longer paid at Embassies
From 1 July 2005, students applying for an MVV using the 'short procedure' will no longer have to pay their fees at Dutch embassies when they pick up their MVV stickers. They now have to sign a 'certificate of indebtedness' stating that they will transfer the 250 euros to the IND’s bank account within 30 days. This is therefore a form of delayed payment.
Students who do not pay the MVV fee on time will receive a reminder on arrival in the Netherlands and will still have to pay the fee on the basis of the certificate of indebtedness signed at the embassy. Institutes of education may of course pay students’/fellowship holders’ fees themselves after they have arrived.
