The Exchange mailservers have been arranged made to approach with a POP3 or IMAP client. This is special done round students of and co-workers with a bad connection (in the foreign country or home) the occasion to give their e-mail what faster to read then with OWA. Only: The POP3/IMAP entries is available, but only the facility E-MAIL becomes serve gesupport, d. w. z. the availability of the Exchange. Borrows on! Users are be self responsible for the installation of the client. Warnings for DOLL/IMAP users:
* Your connect at a DOLL only at an Exchange do not serve, that also (partly) DOLL/IMAP functionaliteit has. * Put your client so in that the e-mail on the serve remains stand (mostly option “Leave e-mail on serve”), the standard institution for POPmail gets the whole mailbox over to the pc, and a restore becomes in that case NOT done! * Functionaliteiten as the calender, the address book etc its differently than by the Outlook/Exchange combination and sometimes in it completely not present. Synchroniseren of your calender with IMAP appeared your calender serve to make on the completely empty and is a restore also here not possible
Advice: use IMAP instead of POP3 Settings: incoming serve: imap. wur. nl (or doll. wur. nl) outgoing serve: smtp. wur. nl (through some providers not allowed, thus then is alone download possible) precise applied: no outgoing serve verificatie requires: yes accountnaam: shortened inlaid name gate numbers: imap with SSL - 993 (and doll with SSL - 995). In Outlook Deliberately, Root leaflet path: do not fill in. Comment and remarks gladly to the FB-ICT helpdesk (0317-484000). Borrows on: the FB-ICT Helpdesk furnishes no technical support on above service (see also up here)!
FB-ICT supports only the outlook clients within WURnet.
