To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience: - You're in the final phase of your Bachelors or Masters education and are enrolled in your studies for the entire duration of the internship.
- Your education has strong connections with one or multiple of the following areas: Business Economics, Strategic Management and/or Marketing.
- Having 1 year of relevant experience in marketing (for example, via internships or short-term experiences) is a plus.
- You have a strong interest in all aspects of marketing, in particular on Innovation and you are very entrepreneurial. Additionally, you are committed, outgoing, have strong interpersonal skills, work disciplined and enjoy working in teams.

Position: Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d)
Company: MARS Department: R&D Location: Verden
Key Responsibilities: - Shape and execute the data science strategy for Mars Petcare R&D in collaboration with colleagues from data science teams around the world
- Integrating, manipulating and mining large datasets from disparate sources to identify new insights and patterns that can predict the success of innovative solutions to business issues
- Analyzing data sets to determine the best end-to-end machine learning techniques to create solutions for solving complex business issues
- Drawing insights and presenting results in a cohesive, intuitive and simplistic manner for both technical and non-technical end users
- Advance & maintain statistical competencies in line with Petcare Standards
- Ensure statistically relevant designs of research studies in a variety of different research areas.
- Conducting advanced statistical analyses of structured and unstructured datasets using a variety of modeling techniques, such as: linear regression, time-series, classification and decision tree models, CNN and RNN (neural network), gradient boosting and others; producing recommender system, forecasting and others
Qualifications: - Master’s or PhD degree in mathematics, statistics, informatics, bioinformatics, data sciences or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an Applied Data Science role or equivalent, ideally within the CPG, Consumer Products, Retail, Telecom or Financial Services industries
- Hands-on experience using tools like Spark, Scala, R, Python, Bayesian, H2O, Storm, Yarn, and Kafka; experience querying databases (SQL, Hive) and working with big data platforms such as a Hadoop ecosystem (Azure) and Apache Spark
- Expert knowledge of and experience with modelling techniques such as significance testing; GLM/Regression; Random Forest; Boosting; Trees; text mining and social network analysis
- Experience validating and deployment of model and analytical techniques to determine trends and significant data relationships
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, D3, ggplot to improve decision making and productivity
- Strong communication and presentation skills
