Finance is divided into two fields: Financial management [or corporate finance], and Asset pricing [or investment/portfolio management]. Banking is usually treated as a subfield under corporate finance (it deals with indirect financing by corporates), and it connects closely with monetary economics. International finance is a mix of international economics, asset pricing, corporate finance/banking. More often you see international finance sits in department of economics.
Financial mathematics or financial econometrics are considered as applied math/econometrics, and you will find it in department of mathematics or econometrics.
UvT has programs in both Financial management and Investment analysis. Other Dutch universities may not divide the finance program into two as UvT does, but you can tilt your interests by selecting suitable electives. UvT, EUR and VU has a quantitative finance program, twente university has a financial engineering program, UvA has a financial mathematics program........ too many choices. |
