Extreme weather warning for north east
The KNMI weather centre is warning of extreme weather in the north east provinces following icy conditions that led to a rash of accidents during the morning.
It is expecting the situation to gradually improve but low temperatures mean black ice may form again this evening, the KNMI said.
The warning is in force for the provinces of Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe, Flevoland, Overijssel and Gelderland.
Accidents
There were so many accidents in the Veluwe region of Gelderland this morning that the ambulance service advised people to call family, neighbours or friends to take them to hospital so they would have ambulances available for any life-threatening situations.
In Eindhoven, the police advised motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to stay at home.

        KNMI气象中心警告称，继早晨结冰路况导致一连串事故之后，东北省将出现极端天气。不过预计这种天气形势会渐渐改善，但是低温意味着晚间又会形成薄冰。格罗宁根（Groningen）,弗里斯兰省（ Friesland）, Drenthe, Flevoland, 上艾瑟尔生（Overijssel）
和格尔德兰（Gelderland）等省都在极端天气警告之列。

事故
格尔德兰省Veluwe发生多起事故，救护服务中心建议人们发生事故在一些危及到生命的情势下向家属、邻居或朋友求救将伤员送往医院以便尽快结束救治。在艾恩德霍芬，警察建议驾车者、骑自行车的人和步行者尽量呆在家里。
