UvA comes third in Elsevier’s ranking of comprehensive universities

In the October 2007 Elsevier Thema Studeren, students and lecturers evaluated almost forty popular academic programmes. The results remained much the same as last year. The University of Amsterdam received 13% of the professors' votes for the best comprehensive university, just like last year. This puts the UvA in third place overall. Also like last year, Utrecht University finished in first place.
Four programmes from the UvA's Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences received top rankings, just like last year. Professors ranked the UvA's programmes in Communication Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Psychology the best in the Netherlands. The students ranked the UvA's programmes in Social Geography and Planology first. The overall rankings for programmes at the UvA do not vary greatly per programme. The average marks which UvA students gave their programmes ranged from 6.4 for Dentisty to 7.6 for Psychology. |
