Three killed by blast at DSM plant
Three men were killed and two others injured by an explosion at a DSM chemical plant in Geleen in the south of the country on Tuesday.
The accident occurred while the men were working on a gas-powered boiler, according to the DSM director in Limburg, J. Fransen-Van de Putte. One of the men who died was a DSM employee and the other two were contract workers. The two injured men were allowed to go home after being treated by the company's own medical team.
The recovery of the three victims' bodies was delayed for safety reasons and the plant was sealed off yesterday. However, DSM stressed that no harmful materials were released into the surrounding area by the blast. |
