Job description
We are looking for a Trade support/ Back office employee to add to our young, sales-driven, and dynamic trading team. Working at GFS means working in a healthy, internationally oriented company with an ambitious team
1. You are first trained by one of your colleagues so that you gain insight into our (trade) business processes; 2. Supporting traders in relationship management; 3. Support traders on all logistical files; 4. Prepare, process, and handle the various required documents, certificates, and documentary letters of credit; 5. Weekly preparation of stock and shipment reports; 6. Responsible for entering contracts in our ERP software system; 7. You ensure that we can count on correct administration and reporting; 8. You cooperate in compiling daily figures, weekend closing, andperiod-end procedures; 9. You provide 'hands-on support' in various administrative processes and process improvements when necessary; 10. Archive contractual documents, amendments to contractual documents, and contractual documents signed and returned by customers; 11. Loading checklist for trucks and containers; 12. Liaise with departments on each loading; 13. Liaise with traders on the allocation of stock, purchases, and sales; 14. Ensure timely forwarding of documents to customers, banks, and agents; 15. You are part of a team of 6 colleagues and you report to the GFS department supervisor.
Job Requirements 1. You are available full-time, this is mandatory for this position and not negotiable; 2. You are a morning person and like to start your day fresh, energetic, and early because within the trading business this is often where the peak of the day lies (working hours: Monday – Thursday 7.30 - 17.00 / Friday 7.30 - 15.00); 3. Minimum MBO level 4 towards Administration, Transport, Logistics, Business or Trade or proven experience of a similar level; 4. This position best suits a proactive professional with at least 1-3 years (with a maximum of 7 years) of relevant work experience in a similar position; 5. You are fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing, and it would be nice if you know a third language; 6. You live in (the immediate surroundings of) Rotterdam with a travel time of up to 45 minutes (during rush hour); 7. You have strong knowledge of Excel and other MS Office programs; 8. You have experience with ERP software systems or have no problems at all to gain experience fast; 9. Open and direct communication; 10. Enthusiastic, positive team player and capable of solving problems together; 11. Thinks in solutions, not in problems; 12. Result-oriented and accurate/attentive to detail; 13. Reliable and able to work independently; 14. Strong communicator and negotiator; 15. Keen sense of priorities to meet short deadlines; 16. Not afraid to take responsibility and accountability for decisions and actions implemented; 17. You can work under time pressure, tight deadlines are a challenge, and understand that work sometimes requires you to take an extra step; 18. Valid EU work authorization.
